Aug 22, 2017· I acquired this yesterday. I'm not a machinist at all. Can anybody tell me just what I've got here. There are no tags on it. I also have a chance to buy a South bend metal lathe, atlas milling machine, another milling machine and a bunch of tooling with it. I don't have any pics. I did run the lathe a little yesterday and it all seems to work.
The mill and shaper were not built to the price point the lathe was and use fewer Zamac parts. The gears in the Change-O-Matic drive are Zamac, but are not heavily stressed. They rarely wear out, but fail from abuse. They are the same gears used in the Atlas 6" lathe as .
