The biggest chunks of gold in the concentrates never make it past the first couple of riffles. The lower riffles aren't trapping much at all. So I probably have too many riffles in this prototype sluice. To do a cleanup, I first pick out any large pieces of gold that are stuck behind the first couple of riffles (see photo above).
