Solving Customer Problems with CVD Diamond Technology Founded in 1984, Crystallume pioneered the development and application of Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) diamond technology. Since then, Crystallume's coating experts have become specialists at solving customer problems with diamond technology. Diamond Helps Improve Product Performance Diamond technology isn't new.

The challenge of the materials revolution is that the parts are often more difficult to machine due to their extreme hardness and abrasiveness. Diamond is the material of choice for machining non-ferrous metals, ceramics and composites. Diamonds unique hardness makes it more resistant to abrasive wear than any other cutting tool material.

Dec 01, 2012· A patented, highly advanced and durable diamond coating gives the specially designed ball end mill the capability to "cut" small micro chips of carbide as it forms the programmed feature. This video shows a 1.00mm ball end mill taking just 39 minutes to create a complex Hexalobular shape on VF-20 super micro grain carbide, rated at 92.5Hra.

PCD PCD & Diamond Coated End Mills. PCD (polycrystalline diamond) are brazed tipped tools specifically designed for composite, cast aluminum applications. PCD end mills require high spindle speeds and rigid tooling set ups for optimum performance. The PCD insert resists abrasion wear and dramatically extends the milling cutters tool life.

Diamond Dense Cutters have a CVD coating which is grown directly onto the carbide end mill. This produces a diamond coating with the highest degree of hardness and lowest coefficient of friction. The result is an end product with the longest life available for machining graphite.

Diamond Coated End Mills. Since 1998 CVD Diamond Corporation has used proprietary technology for diamond coating to produce the highest quality Diamond Coated End Mills available on the market today. These high quality diamond cutting tools are used in machining graphite, machining carbon fiber, machining ceramics in the green state and in the ...

Jun 29, 2018· Tin doesn't hold up much better in aluminum it's an old coating that isn't really much better than uncoated. that said there is another coating that I'm surprised no one has mentioned and that's diamond or diamond like coatings. These are very expensive cutters but if you are running a large enough job it can be well worth the extra bucks.

May 21, 2018· Diamond Cut End Mill. Diamond Cut Composite Cutters come in two different geometries: End Mill Style and Drill Mill Style. Although the end mill style tool is center cutting, the drill mill style has a 140° point angle, making it more suitable for plunge cutting. This is great for clearing out pockets in the middle of composite sheets.

TELCON is a world leading manufacturer of PCD and CVD diamond cutting tools for the machining of composite materials: CFRP and GFRP. TELCON produces a wide range of tools used by many of the world's leaders in the field including Boeing, Airbus, Lockheed .

The most wear resistant CVD diamond cutting tools. Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) results in the ability to deposit pure diamond on special grades of tungsten carbide substrate. This process allows for tighter manufacturing tolerances and superior tool life compared to other less expensive CVD diamond coating applications.

Sourcing Guide for End Mill: China manufacturing industries are full of strong and consistent exporters. We are here to bring together China factories that supply manufacturing systems and machinery that are used by processing industries including but not limited to: milling cutter, machine tool, carbide end mill.

T-slot cutters mill exactly that: t-shaped slots. Shell end cutters are used for large flat surfaces and for angle cuts. There are variations of these tool types as well. There are four critical angles of each cutting tool: end cutting edge angle, axial relief angle, radial relief .

Diamond End Mills for Non-Ferrous Materials. Get extended tool life with our impressive selection of CVD Diamond and PCD Diamond End Mills. Our true crystalline CVD tools – ideal for machining graphite, composites, green carbide, and green ceramics – will improve abrasion resistance and allow for higher feed rates than uncoated carbide. For even more hardness and abrasion resistance, try ...

End Mill Point Diamond Pattern, Composite Cutting Router Bits suitable for cutting fiberglass, tile and other highly-abrasive materials. Diamond pattern cutting edges abrades (grinds) material rather than cutting like conventional router bits.

Coatings enable the cutting tool to evacuate chips from the flutes faster thereby getting the HOT chips off of the end mill's ground surface. Heat is not carbide's friend. In the last decade, the technology to provide more heat- and wear-resistant coatings has promoted longer tool life and increased productivity.

Polycrystalline Diamond End Mills. ... your shop's productivity when you choose from a huge selection of square end, ball nose, corner radius and indexable end mills with several coatings available. No matter what speeds and feeds your job demands, you'll find the right end mill from top manufacturers here. ... The cutter has teeth on both ends ...

The wafer is brazed to a carbide body to form an end mill. PCD has excellent hardness and abrasion resistance, and is the thickest diamond layer we offer. Sharply ground cutting edges and thick diamond layer combine the sharp edge benefits of Amorphous Diamond with the abrasion resistance of CVD Diamond.

OSG offers square, roughting, ball nose, corner radius, tapered and double end end mills, as well as routers and burs.

Our diamond coated Standard Length End Mills are the sharpest of the diamond coated tools currently on the market which allows the machining of thin walls with less chance of breakage of the material, and providing superior finish of the part. The diamond coating ensures that the tool stays sharp throughout the life of the tool.

Diamond Tool Coating provides high-performance cutting solutions for the most challenging non-ferrous applications, including carbon fiber composites used to manufacture next generation commercial and military aircraft.

An end mill is a type of milling cutter, a cutting tool used in industrial milling applications. It is distinguished from the drill bit in its application, geometry, and manufacture. While a drill bit can only cut in the axial direction, a milling bit can generally cut in all directions, though some cannot cut axially.

Until now, there was no alternative to expensive natural or industrial diamond-coated polishing end mills for glossy machining of transparent plastics such as acrylics or plexiglass. DATRON now offers Acrylic Cutting Tools — a cost effective alternative to diamond-tipped polishing end mills.
